On December 2, Middle School Team "The Chosen Ones" placed 8th in the Qualifying Round and were invited to join the 4th place alliance by Team "Forklift Certified" from Rochester Hills. The two teams defeated the 3rd place alliance in the final match 55-49. Their victory also qualified them for the Michigan State Championship Tournament in February.
