Gilkey IQ Team "Gearheads" Takes 2nd Place and Wins the Build Award at Grandville Tournament

Gilkey Elementary School's VEX IQ Team "Gearheads" had an exciting and very successful day on Saturday, January 7th at the Grandville Holiday VEX Tournament. They finished first of 43 teams after eight Qualifying Rounds. They then finished in second place in the Final Round and earned the Teamwork 2nd Place Award. To cap off the day, they also were presented with the Build Award, which recognizes a team's ability to implement an effective and efficient robot design process.


As a result of their performance at Grandville, the team has been invited to participate in the 2023 CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship - VEX IQ - Elementary School Division to be held in Council Bluffs, Iowa on March 27-29.
